As a brand new school in Calgary, our preschool, kindergarten, and elementary programs at Acton Academy Calgary Central are now accepting its first cohorts of learners for September 2025.
Operated by the not-for-profit Acton Academy Calgary Central Society (2664484 Alberta Society), we are officially registered with Alberta Registries and guided by a dedicated Board of Directors committed to upholding our mission.
Acton Central is fully accredited by Alberta’s Ministry of Education, ensuring that we meet all provincial requirements including:
While our financial structure aligns with private elementary schools, allocating resources to ensure the highest quality learning experience, our not-for-profit status ensures that any surplus is reinvested into our alternative school and our students. Unlike for-profit institutions, there are no dividends - our sole mandate is to contribute positively to society.
We are currently in the process of securing charitable status from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Once approved, we will be able to issue tax receipts for donations, further supporting our mission to provide an exceptional, learner-driven education.
To be an inclusive community that empowers every student to reach their full potential, embrace lifelong curiosity, and become world leaders, exemplary citizens, and visionary changemakers who inspire and contribute meaningfully to a better world.
The Acton Academy mission is to inspire each child and parent who enters our doors to find a calling that will change the world.
We cultivate curious minds through hands-on learning experiences and personalized attention. Our dedicated educators guide learners to build strong academic foundations while nurturing leadership and life skills, empowering each child to thrive authentically.
Focus on empowering learners through the co-creation of their Individualized Learning Plans and mastery-based progression. They will be encouraged to explore and pursue passions to discover their authentic selves and interests.
We prepare students for the future by cultivating critical thinking, emotional intelligence, practical problem-solving skills, and leadership through student-led governance, fostering responsibility for their education and their community, while equipping them with essential soft skills and practical abilities that align with their passions and prepare them for life's challenges.
